Set on an exceptional 4,800 sq m beachfront site overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, Villa Ancora is a contemporary tropical residence designed around family life, entertaining and a constant connection to the sea.
The architecture brings together generous living spaces, landscaped courtyards, water features and sheltered outdoor areas within a calm, highly considered composition. Full-height retractable glazing opens the principal interiors directly onto expansive terraces, gardens and the beachfront infinity pool, while deep roof overhangs provide shade and protection from the tropical climate.
Six luxurious bedroom suites are complemented by a private gym, spa and beauty salon, media lounge, games room and extensive indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces. A show kitchen and discreet professional back kitchen allow the house to transition effortlessly between relaxed family living and larger gatherings.
Natural stone, travertine, warm timber and textured finishes create a restrained material palette, while integrated lighting, home automation, solar power with battery backup and advanced building systems provide a sophisticated technical infrastructure behind the simplicity of the architecture.
Villa Ancora was designed to make the tropical landscape part of everyday life. Gardens, courtyards, reflecting pools and planted transitions are woven between the principal spaces, creating changing views and a continuous connection with nature throughout the house. Rather than treating landscape as something surrounding the architecture, the two are composed together. Water and planting soften the scale of the residence, provide privacy between different areas and establish a gradual transition from the arrival sequence through the house towards the beachfront.
The principal living spaces are orientated towards the Gulf of Thailand, with full-height retractable glazing allowing them to open almost completely to the terraces and gardens. Deep roof overhangs protect these large openings from direct sun and tropical rain, while continuous flooring and carefully aligned ceiling planes reinforce the transition between inside and outside. At the centre of the composition, the beachfront infinity pool extends the architecture visually towards the horizon.
Despite its scale, Villa Ancora was conceived first as a family home. Six generous bedroom suites are balanced by informal lounges, garden retreats and quieter spaces that allow different generations to use the house independently. A private gym, spa, beauty salon, media lounge and games room create a complete range of recreational spaces within the residence, allowing everyday family life to remain relaxed and self-contained.
Large indoor and outdoor living areas allow the house to accommodate everything from informal family dinners to substantial social gatherings. A refined show kitchen forms part of the main living space, supported by a fully equipped professional back kitchen with dedicated service circulation. Beachfront dining terraces, shaded lounges and multiple entertaining areas allow different parts of the property to operate independently while remaining visually connected.
The material palette is deliberately restrained, using honed Italian travertine, natural stone, warm timber, textured plaster and large areas of architectural glazing to create a calm backdrop to the landscape. Materials continue between internal and external spaces wherever possible, reducing visual boundaries and reinforcing the architectural concept. Natural finishes were selected not only for their appearance, but for their ability to develop character and age naturally within the tropical environment.
Behind the simplicity of the architecture is a sophisticated technical infrastructure designed to improve comfort, efficiency and resilience without becoming visually dominant. Integrated lighting scenes, home automation, advanced climate control, security systems and solar generation with battery backup are incorporated discreetly throughout the property. The result is a highly technically capable residence in which technology supports the experience of the architecture rather than defining it.
